Centre for Contemporary China Studies

The Institute for the State and the Law at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences hosts the Centre for Contemporary China Studies. It was established pursuant to the Agreement on Scientific Cooperation between the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, signed on April 24, 2015.

The Institute for the State and the Law offers the following major strands of cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences:

• Joint scientific projects in areas of common interest;
• PhD training, post-graduate studies, or individual specializations for Chinese citizens in Bulgarian and EU legislation:
  • The Institute is accredited to provide PhD training across 9 doctoral programmes;
  • The Institute can host Chinese researchers and post-doctoral fellows, providing them with access to its library;
• The Institute can provide expertise in various branches of Bulgarian law, as well as EU law.
