Meeting of the Director of the ISL, Prof. I. Ilieva, with the regional administration of the town of Razgrad

The Regional Governor of Razgrad, Dr Deyan Dimitrov, hosted a working meeting at which the steps for presenting Razgrad Region in an investment profile in Chinese were discussed. The profile is to be presented to investors from the Asian country who are interested in implementing projects on the territory of the European Union and Bulgaria.

Participants included the Director of the Institute for the State and the Law at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), Prof. Irena Ilieva, PhD, the Deputy Regional Governor Dragomir Zlatev, the Deputy Mayor of Razgrad Municipality Miroslav Granchаrov, the coordinator of the Regional Academic Centre (RAC) Assoc. Prof. Tsvetan Dimitrov, PhD, and the manager of the Regional Information Centre (RIC) – Razgrad Yuliyan Danailov.

Prof. Ilieva gave examples of the very good partnership between the BAS and the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and of the intentions of both sides to carry out joint Eurasian projects.

The representatives of Razgrad shared a number of opportunities for implementing projects in the Ludogorie region that could arouse the interest of Chinese partners. Yuliyan Danailov spoke about the progress of projects with European funding and the declared investment intentions of local beneficiaries, which will be implemented in the period up to 2030. They can be realised by combining EU funds and private capital.

Prof. Ilieva undertook to ensure that representatives of Razgrad Region are invited to the International Conference planned for November in Sofia on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "16+1" initiative for cooperation with China.

The Regional Information Centre – Razgrad is part of the network of 27 Regional Information Centres for the promotion of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) in Bulgaria.
