Pravna Misal (Legal Thought) is an academic journal published by the Institute for the State and the Law at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The Journal publishes scholarly articles covering all fields of law, as well as reviews of monographs and textbooks. It also provides information on scientific events and presents the activities of professional associations with which the Institute cooperates, including the Bulgarian Association of International Law, the Bulgarian Association of Comparative Law and the Bulgarian Association of Criminology.
The Journal provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, scholarly debate and the dissemination of research findings. It welcomes contributions from both established scholars and early-career researchers. By publishing contributions from international authors, including in English, the Journal broadens its international reach and promotes comparative legal research and dialogue across legal systems.
The Journal is published quarterly in print. Its issues are available by annual subscription and may also be purchased directly from the Institute for the State and Law, with payment by bank transfer. Electronic versions of the issues are available through the Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL).
The Journal is included in the National Reference List of Contemporary Bulgarian Scientific Publications with Peer Review, maintained by the National Centre for Information and Documentation (NACID) under the Ministry of Education and Science.
