PROF. IRENA ILIEVA PRESENTED ONE OF THE AWARDS FOR CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS IN BULGARIA

On 16 December 2019 the Association of Lawyers for the Development of Law in the Public Interest presented the Second Annual Awards for Contribution to the Development of Public Consultations in Bulgaria, as part of the closing event of the project "Public Consultations – a Winning Choice for All", funded under the Good Governance Operational Programme, co-financed by the EU through the ESF.

Second prize was awarded to the Institute of Public Administration (IPA). The award to Mr Pavel Ivanov, Executive Director of IPA, was presented by Prof. Irena Ilieva, Director of the Institute for the State and the Law at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. In her brief address, she emphasised the important role of IPA as a bridge between the administration and civil society, which is very similar to the function that public consultations have in the national law-making process.
