Dear Professor Yankov,

On behalf of the scholars and staff of the Institute for the State and the Law at BAS, I would like to extend to you my warmest congratulations on the occasion of your 95th birthday.

For us, you are a legendary figure with a successful diplomatic career and remarkable scholarly activity.

You have made a great contribution to the development of international law and legal scholarship, including as head of the Section on International Law and International Relations at the Unified Centre for the Sciences of the State and the Law, which united the Faculty of Law of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and the Institute for the State and the Law at BAS (1980–1989).

Please accept our wishes for good health and longevity.
