Library

The library of the Institute for the State and the Law is a specialized law library, established in 1947. It is one of the major legal research libraries in the country. It possesses 35 002 volumes: 20744 books, 14135 periodicals and 9 CDs, mainly in the field of law, but publications in other fields - philosophy, sociology, history, economics -  can be found as well. The library materials include monographs, textbooks and manuals in all legal branches, statutes and case-law collections, reference books, Bulgarian and foreign legal journals. With its resources and information services the library provides invaluable help to the researchers from the Institute, doctoral students, university professors, lawyers, law students, etc.

 

Since its establishment until now the library has been maintaining a traditional paper catalogue (alphabetical, systematic and topographical). The materials received after 2003 are included also in an On-line catalogue, accessible through the e-catalogue of the Central Library of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
